On a cold November day when the temperature didn’t get past 35 degrees, 95 drivers showed up from all over the Northeast US to attend the season finale for Lock City Drift. The event was expected to be an amazing one with two different tracks running at Thompson Motor Speedway. The skid pad was available for drivers in B & C groups, while the road course was open to A group only. There was also rumors prior to the event that Formula D driver, Ryan Tuerck could possibly making an appearance.

The track went live and from that point on, it was non-stop drifting all day. All drivers started the day off warming up their cars while trying to stay warm. While the drivers lined up at the skid pad to start shredding, the A group drivers all took some warm up laps on the road course to warm up the cars, tires and track. After a few minutes, the smell and sounds of burning tires filled the air and most people forgot about how cold it was. The spectators started to show up in droves and were splitting between the road course and skid pad.
Throughout the day, drivers in all groups and skill levels shredded and put on a show for the crowds. Ryan Tuerck did show up with his street car and his brother, Evan Tuerck brought his S13. They put on a hell of show for the crowd as well as all of the other drivers that attended. There was some insanely close tandems all day long. Everyone that attended the event came away extremely pleased with how things went. Even the guys who had mechanical failures had a great time. There was plenty of seat time for the drivers and plenty of exciting drifting for all of the spectators and media.

Overall it was the perfect way to spend Veteran’s Day on a chilly November Saturday in New England. If you weren’t able to attend, you missed a hell of an event. Should you have been one of the lucky ones to be there, I’m sure you’ll be remembering it until next season. A huge shout out and thank you to @thompsonspeedway for allowing us to have another amazing event at this beautiful track. And a big thank you to @lockcitydrift for an amazing season finale.
